Every seal answers one of two questions: can someone open this without a tool, and will anyone be able to tell if they did? Barrier seals answer the first. Indicative seals answer the second. Most operations need both, on different parts of the same journey.

A seal programme works when the paperwork works. Keep numbering sequential across reorders, record the number on the dispatch document, verify it at delivery, and investigate mismatches the same day. Barcoded seals let both ends scan rather than transcribe, which removes the most common source of error in seal logs.
For palletised or bulk loads, seals work alongside the rest of the load: stretch wrap for stability, FIBC bags for bulk material, and a tamper-evident seal on the outer closure so interference is visible before the load is accepted.

A barrier seal (bolt or cable) is built to resist removal and needs a cutting tool. An indicative seal, such as a plastic pull-tight tie, is designed to show that someone interfered with the load rather than to stop them.
If your freight crosses borders or your carrier or customer requires it, yes — international container programmes commonly specify ISO 17712 classified seals. Send us the classification you have been asked for and we will confirm what we can supply against it.
Numbering is what makes a seal auditable: the number is recorded at dispatch and checked at delivery, so a swapped or missing seal shows up immediately. Sequential numbering, barcodes and colour coding are all available on custom orders.
